Elimination or correct Marriage
« on: Sunday 23 June 13 10:32 BST (UK) »
Can anyone give me any info. on Marriage of Henry W. Harding and Henrietta W. Shaw - June Qtr 1927 - Lewisham 1d 21111.
From research Henrietta Whittaker Shaw's birth reg. Huddersfield March 1887.
I am interested in the second name of Henry if possible to confirm if second Marriage. Occupation would be a help.
Many thanks, Syljun

From memory, London marriages are only available online until 1921?

So, you are probably going to need to buy the marriage certificate? ::)

Hi,

Order a marriage certificate for Henry (using his full name) in 1927, Lewisham; just those details.  GRO will search 1926-1928 and will only send the certificate if the name is identical.  If not you will get a refund.  However, if does take a bit longer than using references but if you are unsure this could be the way.

That MAY not be the right Henry ,  as  on the  Electoral Roll for 1929 and 1932 there's a Henry William Harding  and a Henrietta Woodley Harding  A Henrietta Woodley Harding   dies in 1982 birth  year given as 1906

Or you could order using the reference but quoting Washington as a middle name rather than just using the middle initial. If it doesn't match you should get a refund. If you do, make sure you don't enter the brides names on the application.

Have found Birth of Henrietta Whittaker Shaw March Qtr 1887. Found her on 1901 Census in Huddersfield living with Aunt age 14. Cannot find her on 1911 Census (no matter) Makes her 40yrs if she married 1927 Henry W. Harding and he would be 42/43yrs.
Cannot find her marrying before that date. Thought she might be another Divorcee like Henry and married in maiden name but cannot find a marriage before that.
Might be worth sending for Marr/Cert.  Any ideas? Syljun
