As requested on previous posts - can you include details of which particular family you are researching - names/birthyears/timescale etc.  The various censuses show several hundred entries for this surname - over 70 of which are in Bedfordshire

Your post suggests another county or even a different country so tell us what you know about that aspect

Virtually all Beds baptisms and marriages per 1813 have been extracted onto the igi at www.familysearch.org. By searching that you should be able to find the earliest Beds baptism after 1537

It's an extremely common surname in north-west Bedfordshire, and probably just a localised spelling of Hewlett.

Why specifically Stevington ? As far as I can see, there are only 4 marriages there in 1706, 1708, 1794 & 1807; all male Hulet/Hulat names but they were not baptised there. Where did these couples baptise their children? There are more entries in Pavenham & Felmersham parish registers.

thankyou for your reply john. up to that date my ancestors were only in stevington and i really dont know if or when the huletts from the other villages connect. i think they must do at some point though.some were baptised as children but others as adults so its pretty difficult . william and ann could be from the other villages i just dont know. it seems that the stevington branch all descend from their sons james and francis .  any help much appreciated .
