Tracing a family member
« on: Wednesday 10 July 13 14:20 BST (UK) »
Hi there

Can anybody help I am trying to trace a Thomas Robertson again as I have new info. Ok I have his marriage cert and in 1896 he is 44 a painter and dad is also Thomas he is deceased and down as a Inland rev officer. He marries in Blandford Dorset.

Then I have his daughter marriage cert and Thomas now has a middle name George he is still down as a painter & decorator.

I also have his death cert and he dies in 1923 in Dorset age 72

I have him on census from 1901 & 1911 but I cant go back on him unless I have missed him completely on census it says he comes from Harwick Suffolk.

Thanks Ali  :)

says he comes from Harwick Suffolk.

Looking at the 1901 Enumerators Page it clearly says Harwich - which is Essex !

So this looks good in the 1861 census - the family are now in Lowestoft, Suffolk (just north of Harwich I believe)

RG 9/Piece 1187 Folio 63 Page 25

John Robertson 44 Head born Middx, St Pancras - a Cost Guards Man
Eliza Robertson 35 Wife born Dorset, Knowle?
Sophia Robertson 15
Ellen Robertson 12
Thomas Robertson 8 born Essex, Harwich
John Robertson 7
George Robertson 4
Joseph Robertson 2
Harry Robertson 3 Months
