Wife from Cumbernauld, husband from Lilliesleaf. 90 miles appart!

Hello, i had been unable to find a marriage for my ancestors Andrew Knox born 1690 and Margaret Kirkwood born 1694 (DOB take from their grave). I stumbled across a marriage in Cumbernauld in 1710 to Andrew Knox and Margaret?. I looked at the original and the record was damaged where margarets surname was, but it did appear to end with a 'D'. Obviously this is not enough to go off, but there is a baptism for a Margaret Kirkwood in 1694 to John Kirkwood and Margaret Murheed in cumbernauld.
Andrew was from Lilliesleaf in Roxburghshire, and it is there they had their family together.
There doesnt appear to be any Kirkwoods in that area.
They are 90 miles appart, but does anyone this this could be right? if so how could they have possibly met!?

Possibly in Edinburgh, a lot of folk moved there for work.

Strangely enough my 3g grandparents lived and brought up there family in Lilliesleaf. My 3g grandfather William was born and brought up there (the local blacksmith) My 3g grandmother Frances was born and brought up in Inch Wigtownshire.  I asked the same question as you and was told by my nana's  cousin Frances arrived in Lilliesleaf to work in service for a 'well off' family. They did move about quite a bit for work.

Ive attached the possible marriage of the two, but cant make out where Andrew is from. Ive put it in a box. Can anyone read it?
