Eyes wanted..help with name of father
« on: Monday 22 July 13 08:35 BST (UK) »
Hi there:

I need someone to help me read the name of the father of the groom in a wedding appearing in the Liverpool Catholic Marriage, dated 29 May 1872, between a Michael James Redmond and Catherine Kelly. Ancestry reads it as Pracolii Redmond, but I've never heard of a first name as Pracolii. did they mean to write Paulus?

Thanks for your help.

Looks more like Jacobi than Pracolii.
Certainly nothing like the P in Peter street address in next entry.

Agree with Jacobi.

I now don't think this is Jacobi as James was JacoBUS. Think it might be a  misspelt Patricii for Patrick. The 'P' looks different to the 'P' of Petro below because the stroke for the 'a' starts to the left of the P.

It would be Jacobi though as it means ' of James'

Yes, of course - my latin 'O' level was in 1961  ;D, so memory of declining has faded.
