Hi all,

Looking for the name of Eliza Jane Jardine's mother.

Eliza Jane Jardine was daughter of John Jardine born about 1844, died 1918.

Eliza Jane was married firstly to John Hammond 1864, and to Robert Smyth Edgar in 1877.

Searching the AncestryIreland website births / baptisms index for surname Jardine with father's forename John produces several hits, including an Elisabeth Jardine, 1843, County Down.  Whether it's her or not is another matter, it's pay to view.

BTW, have you looked at the will calendars on the PRONI website? There's an index entry for Eliza Jane Jardine of Clanmurry Dromore who died 26 April 1926, but also the following:

The Will of John Jardine late of Dromore County Down Merchant who died 18 March 1885 at same place was proved at Belfast by Robert S. Edgar Merchant and Matilda Jardine Spinster both of Dromore two of the Executors.

This latter will is digitised so you can read it, it talks about a niece Eliza Jane, a daughter Lizzie Edgar, and wife Mary, amongst several others.
