Sussex is not a county I know anything about (too expensive for me) its just somewhere I pass through on my m/c going to a ferry.
Is there any relationship between the parishs of Tillington, Lindfield and Slaugham, are they close together, would you say they fit with the known info.
I have dropped you a PM on my Pembroke Projects for your interest.
dioch en fawr.

Slaugham and Lindfield are about 8 miles apart but Tillington is around 30 miles from Lindfield. There are other baptisms for children of James & Mary at Tillington, two of which  (Mary bap 1817 and George bap 1818) which give father's occupation as Tanner.
