James and Eliza Taylor - Kent, England
« on: Thursday 01 August 13 03:18 BST (UK) »
I have g grandparents James and Eliza Taylor who were found last in the 1861 Census living at 99 Broomfield St, in the parish of St Pauls, kent, England with children Emily, Eliza,Henry and grandson James Bassett. James was 65 years old and a steward on a steamboat to newcastle(which i have been unable to find any record of), nor have i been able to find any record of any other members of the family except Eliza(known as Ellen-my g grandmother). She is recorded as having been born in Germany but a British subject around 1833 but no records has been found yet. I understand that the boundaries may have been changed as in the 1851 census they were living at 99 Evelyn st, parish of St Pauls, Kent and at this time son Charles who was a under steward was also living there. NOt sure what may have happened to the family after 1861 and if anyone can help that would be great.
