Can anyone supply me with a picture of the Balshagray Nursing Home at 160 Broomhill Drive , Glasgow from around 1948 ? I have tried everywhere I can think of with no results . The building no longer exists & is now just a grassy area . Hopefully someone can help . Many thanks , Graham .

I was born in Balshagray Nursing Home Glasgow in May 1945. The address on my Birth Certificate is:

30 Balshagray Avenue

The Glasgow Story (reply #3) has a picture of Balshagary Avenue (odd no's to left, even no's to right) which included the part from its beginning at Dumbarton Road. The church in picture on left would be opposite/or not far from, no.30.
Most of that part of Balshagary Avenue was lost during the Clyde Tunnel dig in 1960's.

Folks, this is a really helpful string. I am researching details of my elder sister who died in infancy. On her Birth Cert the Where Born is a rubber stamp - "30 Balshagray Avenue  Glasgow". This string has confirmed that this was the address of Balshagray Nursing Home.
