Selena May Hopkins (nee) Baker (known as Lena)

Am trying to find any information about My fathers Aunty Lena who sadly passed away in 1990 aged 70.  She was married to David Hopkins and I believe she had 2 or 3 daughters.  They lived in Erdington Birmingham.  She was my Grandmothers half sister Ivy Jane Jones (nee Baker).  Her mother was Susannah Selena Baker (nee Thornton).  Have managed to trace her marriage, birth and death and possible offspring.

She appears to have been born in Warwickshire mmn Phillips

Hi, yes trying to find out more about her and ancestry too.  Her mothers name was Susannah Selina Baker.  She married my Great Grandfather James Baker in 1919.  Her maiden name was Phillips.  She was a widow Susannah Thornton when she married James with a son George Thornton.  Her previous husband was killed in action WW1.  They had Lena in 1920.  That's all I know apart from she married a David Hopkins and possibly had 2 or 3 daughters.  My Dad had some birthday cards from Aunty Lena in his belongings when he passed away in 1991.  His name was Donald Albert Jones.  My Grandmother was Ivy Jane Baker who was James Baker's daughter from his first marriage to Elizabeth Greenhall.  So any information would be helpful.  Thanks x

Susannah married Ernest Thornton in 1912 and they had a son Ernest A b 1915 then George in 1916 - see www.freebmd.org.uk

Thanks that's brilliant.  Especially as you found Ernest the older son.  I often wondered who Ern was on the old birthday cards that belonged to my dad.  I knew she had a son George from her husband Ernest Thornton.  Never found Ernest.  To be honest no one mentioned him that's still alive.  So that's a puzzle solved.  My fathers family tree is quite difficult because he was Donald Jones so that in itself was hard.  Had a limited amount of details.  Susannah Baker I knew as Granny Baker but she died in 1967 so I haven't much memory of her.  She was my Grandmothers Step Mum.  Lena (Selena May) tied them altogether.  Be good if I could find out more about Aunt Lena.  Cheers though a lot of info there I didn't know x
