Thomas Preece my 2 x great grandfather is a real mystery man.
Born in Bridgnorth, Shropshire 1828, married in March at Kaiapoi in 1858, died in Kaiapoi 1878. Not a lot to go on
When or how he arrived in New Zealand is my quest.
There are 3 Thomas Preece in the Kaiapoi area at that time, he was a labourer, so I have managed to eliminate the other two from my list.
I found 1 on the Isabella Hercus in1856, but he was only 16. My Thomas was of age when he married in 1858.
