John Koshelanyk and Jane Koshelanyk Vancouver B.C.
« on: Friday 02 August 13 22:28 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for information on my Grandparents. They died in 1964 before I was born and when my mother was 9 years old in Vancouver. I know that John was born in Stuartburn, Manitoba on the 2ND of January 1915  to Anton Koshelanyk and Maria  Koshelanyk maiden name Pichlyk  but I'm not sure how to acquire his birth certificate. I would also like to acquire a copy of their marriage certificate and a copy of their will.  Can someone please assist me.

Thank you for any help with my search it is greatly appreciated!

Do you know about this British Columbia website?
http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Genealogy/basicSearch

You can get some copies of BMD certs off it for free,if you don't already have their death certs.

Here is the Manitoba BMD website.

Thank you for your help Carol!

I can only find the death certificates in the Public Archives for B.C. and nothing else. I presume I will have to apply for the marriage certificate or registration document via the old fashioned form method and post. From what I gather the registration document contains more information than the certificate. Have you found this to be the case? Also who would I apply to for a copy of their will? I am going to apply to the Manitoba Vital Statistics Agency for an application for my Grandfather's birth certificate and my Great Grandfather and Grandmother's marriage certificate.

Once again thanks for your assistance.

 :)

I have no experience of Manitoba records and wonder if your request would be better being moved to the Canadian boards so a person with more experience of what's available out there can reply?

You can click on contact a moderator and ask for the post to be moved if you want it to be moved.
