Torycfn farm 1810
« on: Sunday 04 August 13 19:33 BST (UK) »
I will be visiting Carmarthenshire in September 2013. I wonder if I can find the farm, Torycfn, near Llangyndeyrn, which belonged to my ancestors, James and Mary Culham in 1810.

I think I have found it on my 1841 map - Tor y cefn, roughly between Crwbin and Meinciau. Not sure if the farm is still there, but google gives several hits for properties in Tor-Cefn, Meinciau, Kidwelly. Tor-Cefn is shown on Old-Maps.co.uk. Same place as Tor y cefn in 1840.

Happy hunting!

:D Hi Thank you! I googled Old-maps and found it! Yeah! But where is that in relation to modern day Carmarthen or Llangyndeyrn?

If you find it on www.old-maps.co.uk,using the name or postcode as the search term, simply reduce the magnification (+/- scale on map) until you get your bearings.
