Hi can any one help out please, I have a William Tayles born 1862 and died 1918 in Welby Warren, how do I find out where he is likely to have been buried, because Welby Warren is a Farm House but not sure what Church is nearest and most likely.

Hi John,
Have checked with Grantham Cemetery to see if William was buried there but no so I would think looking at my map Ropsley is the most likely place or Londonthorpe(not sure if they had burials at this one). The parish records covering that date in Ropsley are on Beltisloe reel 820 held in Grantham library.IF no one else comes up with the answer I will look at the record on Saturday.
Kathy
PS Do you have the date when William died to make it easier to find on records?

Not Ropsley

Died in 4thQ 1918.
I suspect the parish would be Welby (not on LttP after 1913), I think the A52 may be the parish boundary.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hi Geoff
Thanks for the information re date I think the best place to look is on the Grantham Journal micro film and see if it is on there and if it says where he was buried.

The burial would most likely have been in St. Bartholomew's churchyard in Welby village, I had family who lived at Welby Warren in the 1930's and 40's, an aunt died there and she is buried in Welby churchyard......Del.
