Was amazed to find your web site tonight. Memories came flooding back as i looked at faces I had long forgotten but deeds imortal never. Places like Tidworth, ugh, Canada, Malta, Cyprus and North Africa. I was in DERR from Jan 61 until June 66 and was demobbed in Minden. I am sure I have some snaps and I will get then scanned and send to you. I served with D Coy and A Coy. Transfer to the MT Section in Malta. Best regards. 23853266 L/Cpl Bill Wagstaff. Is there anybody out there in cyberspace who has any information on the Wiltshire Malitia that went over to St Helena Island, South Atlantic at the time of the Boer War (1901-02) as I had a great great uncle who was stationed there at that time.

He later went into the 2nd Wiltshire Regiment in 1915 and went over to France for about 3 months when he was invalided back to England wounded. He later returned to France with the Somerset Light Infantry Regiment and then later again with the Manchester Regiment.

Many thanks Kris for your continued interest and sending me these links to view.

I had already seen some or most of them and with the contact I had with a lovely lady who had a greatgrandfather based at St Helena with the 3rd Wiltshire Regiment (Militia), we have been able to compare notes.

It is a strange feeling to think that in all probability, her g/grandfather and my great uncle probably knew and soldiered together and that over 100 years later we have contact and communicated.

It makes the world seem a smaller and very special place.

Once again, many thanks for your good work - what would we do with people like you ?

Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
