Maybe (initial). Gordon Ley.
Not sure about the initial though - maybe A or H or D or ....

My thought was A Gordon Ley

I see that an A G Ley lived in Nottingham in the 1880's.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Hackstaple - this Ley should be in California, in 1930'
