Shin / Shinn families Eriswell
« on: Tuesday 06 August 13 20:58 BST (UK) »
I am researching the Shin / Shinn family from Eriswell. Have got back as far as John Shinn born 1797 father John and mother Susannah Bugg. ( They were married on 12th Oct 1795 Eriswell.)

John Shinn born 1797 married Sophie / Sophia Mysen 9th Jan 1831( I believe in Eriswell). Sophia christened 22nd April 1804 to William Mysen and Rachel Bareham who were married 17th Oct 1797 Eriswell.

John and Sophia's children Mary, Mysan ( Mison), Henry, William, Sarah and Thomas.

Willing to share info with interested parties.

John SHINN (Widower) married Sophia MYSEN  9 Jan 1831 Eriswell (Suffolk Marriage Index)

Prior to that a John SHINN married Mary HOWARD on 5 April 1821 at Mildenhall.  Could be his first marriage the 2 parishes are fairly close.

Thank you.
Would you know that if I was to go to the records office at Bury would marriage records that far back be expected to record who the father / parent was of the bride and groom?

Hi Tracey

Fathers of bride and groom only stated from 1837 onwards, however for most parishes witnesses would be shown in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
