FreeBMD is showing this possible marriage:

December qtr 1901
Rotherham district    vol 9c, page 1303

Wagstaff, Isaac
+ and on the same page +
Ross, Jane Elizabeth

BUT . . . Leyland is in Lancashire, and I can't see a birth in Lancashire?

You can find them and first few kids of the marriage on the 1911 census which is currently free to view.

I think his PoB is Hoyland according to the 1891 census of Nether Hoyland, Yorks.

Excellent - effectively confirms the 1891 detail posted.

Have you found young Jane ?  :P

I found a Jane Ross born Rotherham in 1891 - but a couple of years too old (younger sister Eva, Birth Index tallies, so no 'swap' in the enumeration)

But the same lass & Family in 1901 look OK-ish?

Parents Enoch & Gertrude ?
