Edward Thomas Bell looking for parents
« on: Wednesday 21 August 13 09:45 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the birth (and the parents) of Edward Thomas Bell.

According to his military records he was born in St Anne's, Northampton in 1821, but they don't have any further details.

Thanks

Hi Greenvalley.

I don't think we have a place called St. Anne's in Northampton.

Is there any more info that may help us to assist you.

Do you have Census records for him and his Marriage Cert?

Trish :)

Edward Thomas Bell was in the military. He married Anne Cooper in Ireland in 1846 and I have the following information:

Thomas Bell, "Ireland Marriages, 1619-1898"
Name:    Thomas Bell
Spouse's Name:    Anne Cooper
Event Date:    25 Feb 1847
Event Place:    Kilmacduagh, Gal, Ire
Father's Name:    Samuel Bell
Spouse's Father's Name:    James Cooper
Indexing Project (Batch) Number:    M70195-6
System Origin:    Ireland-VR
GS Film number:    101287
Reference ID:    2:3KGKCN3

He died in India and although there are records none of them reveal the names of his parents. I tried to locate a Samuel Bell in Northampton, but got nowhere, especially since I don't have much more to go on.  There were no daughters. so no possible clue for mother's name.

I tried to find a St Anne's Parish in Northampton, but no luck so far.

Thanks Trish

I'm not certain these are the right people - the age is wrong, Edward Thomas was born in 1821 and I would expect his full name on a baptism record.

I'll keep looking for a parish or place called St Anne's in or near Northampton.

If you got the actual marriage cert you might find some more clues, such as the job his dad did.
Or perhaps some useful witnesses, although they may all belong to Anne's side if they married in Ireland.
