John Hague/Hauge/Haigh buried Glossop Cemetery 1860
« on: Friday 23 August 13 00:24 BST (UK) »
I am seeking information regarding the above who is buried Glossop Cemetery 1860 aged 39 years. The name is recorded as Hauge but others are buried in the same grave (1351) with variations on the name:
John Hauge 1860 aged 39
Hannah Hauge 1861 aged 43
Charles Edward Wyatt 1868 aged 8
Joseph Hague 1876 aged 60
Thomas Haigh 1877 aged 6

My task is first to establish the correct spelling of the name given the variations in this grave, then to find a death registration.

I believe I have established that John Whatevetr was the father of Charles Edward Wyatt b 10 Jun 1859 Glossop.I think Hannah  ?? may be his wife.

I also think it possible John H came from the Huddersfield district.

I will really appreciate help with this puzzle.

If John was only b 1821 - he will have married after 1837 so have you checked freebmd for a marriage to a ?? Hannah

Have you checked the 1851 census for John

Charles Edward Wyatt's birth is on freebmd - why would  John Haigh/Hague be his father if his surname was Wyatt

If Charles Wyatt was born 1859 - have you checked the 1861 census to see who his parents were

Thanks Carol
I have determined that Charles Edward is one of my Wyatts. His mother was Dorothy and seems John H was the father. This I believe would explain why he is buried in that grave.
A John Haigh was the father of other children.

There are a number of possibilities on FreeBMD.

I have found John H on the 1851 Census. He was a lodger at the Queens Arms Glossop (from memory.)

I am speculating that he had a wife Hannah.

I think Hauge is a mis-transcription for Hague.  John's death is in June qtr 1860 under Hague

Thank you Carol for helping.

I have established that John H was the father ( Dorothy mother) of Lucy Ellen Wyatt, baptised 18 June 1854 as Elizabeth Ellen Hague ( LDS batch #C04230-3) later to become Wyatt.

The marriage record of another daughter of Dorothy ( Sarah),revealed that her father was John Haigh.

That makes three Dorothy/John.Possibly he is also the father of Mary Abigail Wyatt bJan 1861.
John H died Dec 1860.

Phew!!!
