curious as to meaning *COMPLETED*

I have a copy of an marriage certificate from 1816, names of bride,groom and witnesses all there . However, there is a final remark saying  entered thus far.       Could anyone explain this please ?              sue

You don't say under which jurisdictgion this MC was issued?

But at a guess I would think it is just a notation by whoever may have been transferring details from one record to another, for 'storage' ?

If it's UK, Stanmapstone may give you a better explanation.

What do you mean "marriage certificate"? Prior to 1837 there were only parish register entries.

My apologies. Yes it is a parish register issued in Cambridgeshire,England.

It could be to do with the Bishop's Transcripts, which are copies of the parish register, as Dawn says
a notation by whoever may have been transferring details from one record to another,
