this cottage is on the A60,Warsop to Mansfield road, postal road is leeming lane North.
Built in 1857,some one told me it was a old Toll house.

I can't answer your question but I have found the following if it is any help:-

Leeming Lane is in Mansfield Woodhouse Parish in the censuses
The following are listed as toll keepers or collectors  or in a Toll Bar address in Mansfield Woodhouse censuses

1851  Robert Ellis -  HO 107 2123  109  3  (Toll Bar)

1861  Charles Norton  -  RG09  2423  90  23 (Toll Bar Town Street)

1871  Henry Wood  -  RG10 3465  34  24 (Toll Bar House)

Unfortunately, there is insufficient detail in surrounding addresses to identify this location any further.A wild card search(*toll*) for occupation reveals nothing in the area from 1881 onward.

Regards
Roger

Turnpike trusts were closed and the toll gates removed mainly in the 1870s. The Mansfield to Worksop Trust "expired" in 1877 http://www.turnpikes.org.uk/English%20turnpike%20table.htm

Have you considered contacting the local library/archives to ask about books/maps etc?  Where is Chantry Cottage in relation to roads other than Leeming Lane?  eg between what modern sideroads?

The Toll Booth on Leeming Lane North was at the junction of Peafield Lane (A6075) you can see it at http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?coords=454900,363800 on the 1879-1885 1:2500 map, marked as TP. It is no longer there on the 1898-1899 map.
