I have Anne Stride bapt 5 May 1771 and buried 18 Nov 1771 daughter of Jonathan and Ann. I have Ann's maiden name as Payne not Painter. Jonathan junior married a Mary Painter on 20 Mar 1785. I also have a note of another possible son for Jonathan and Martha Moses, born abt 1758/9 (calc from age at burial). Joseph named his first son Jonathan and died in Boldre but I haven't got a baptism to make a definite link. His birth date would fit with him being Martha's last child before her death.

Just rechecked Joseph's dates. Looks like his age at burial puts his birth year as 1755, a year before Jonathan and Martha married so less likely to be their son.

Hi

There is this baptism at Boldre
05 May 1771-Anne Stride-blank(no parents entered)  and in the notes it says "widow"

04 May 1755-Joseph Stride s John (entered as Jno) at Milford - there are no other Stride baptisms at Milford between 1752 and 1812 !

There marriages are as LizzieL says
04 February 1763 at Beaulieu
Jonathan Stride & Ann PAYN

20 March 1785 at Boldre
Joanathan Stride & Mary PAINTER

There is this baptism at Beaulieu
22May 1764-Joseph Stride s Joanthan (no mother named)

This info is from the Hampshire Gen Soc Indexes.

Kim :)

That is assuming that the informant knew actual age.
I am a direct descendent of this Joseph and his wife Betty Barnes. I have come up as a 4 - 6th cousin DNA match with a descendent of Jonathan son of Jonathan snr and Martha Moses.
I am now rethinking whether my Joseph could be Jonathan snr and Martha's son after all. Either younger than thought and born between Jonathan jnr and Martha's death, or born before Jonathan snr and Martha married.

No I haven't. As Joseph and Betty were married in Boldre and both died in Boldre, it's highly probable they were living there in 1817.
