Andrew Wilson Summerbell
« on: Tuesday 10 September 13 16:36 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on Andrew Wilson Summerbell born in either the Crook or Spennymoor districts of County Durham around 1868. I cannot find his birth but on the 1881 census there is an Andrew Summerbell aged 13years boarding at Woodfield Rows with the Taggart Family. In 1900 he married Ellen Simpson in Newcastle and died their in 1946

In 1901 he is Andrew Wilson, born Spennymoor.

In 1911 he is Summerbell! ::)

So maybe we should be looking for an Andrew Wilson birth?
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Looking at the rest of the Andrew Wilsons none seam to have any conection with Crook or Spennymoor

I think I need to get his marriage certificate to find his fathers name. I think he may remain a bit of a mystery, but of coarse he may have been adopted.

I found a burial of a Joseph William Summerbell in Spennymoor St. Paul, age 12, buried 2 Apr 1876

a baptism of John William Summerbell in Spennymoor Primitive Methodist 24 Feb 1886 s/o John William and Elizabeth, Tudhoe Colliery

Doubt these will help except shows there were Summerbells in Spennymoor.
