Uniform Indentifcation
« on: Sunday 15 September 13 15:06 BST (UK) »
Dear All,

Hope someone can help me identify the uniform belonging to my relative in this photo.  He was born in Drogheda 1869-1939.

He enlisted with the 2nd Batallion Royal Irish Rifles in 1885-1888 and again during the second boer war in 1899-1902.  He also enlisted for a short-time with the Leinster regiment in 1914 before been reassigned to the Labour Corps regiment until 1919.

Regards.

That is a WW1 uniform but he is not showing any Boer War medal ribbons.

His name is George Hodgins.  There is a G.Hodgins who appears in the second boer war listings for 2nd Battalion Irish Rifles Regiment.
