Hi he was born in 1822.

fraud   he got  6months in prison

On a practical note, can you explain how you found out that he was done for fraud? Are there online records for Durham Jail?

A small piece in the newspapers

The Newcastle Courant , Friday, March 12, 1841

JOHN BELL alias LITTLE was found guilty of obtaining goods by false pretences from John Watson of BishopAuckland on the 26th December, by falsely representing himself to be in the employment of Mr Francis Trewhitt the contractor for the Shildon Tunnel, and putting off three tickets for goods purporting to be signed by Mr Trewhitt. To be kept in hard labor for 6 months.
