Penyrheol Cemetery Caerphilly
« on: Tuesday 17 September 13 11:33 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Does anyone have a layout plan of Penyrheol Cemetery Caerphilly.

I was unable to find one when I visited the Chapel, I now have another three more to find.

I have the section and plot numbers of all four graves.

Any help will be much appreciated.
Cheryl

Did all Chapels have cemeteries?

Not sure they did, as being 'non-conformist' many would have been interned in the Parish plot of the conformist church. In the small town where I lived in south Wales some years ago there there must have been at least eight Chapels none of which had their own graveyard.

After the event I would suggest. Lots of public cemeteries have non denominational chapels in them. I wonder if this one fell into disuse and was taken over by this particular church group?

Hi Rootschat,

Eventually worked out how to post a reply :)

The Chapel is in the cemetery and there is also a section plan on the notice board.
I emailed Caerphilly Berevement Services who have given me a contact name who may be able to help me locate the graves.
A friend in the Netherlands wants a photograph of his relatives grave, a father and son who were both killed in the Senghenydd Explosion in 1913, this year is the centenery of the disaster.

Best wishes Cheryl

Glynntaff Cemetery
« Reply #8 on: Thursday 24 October 13 18:08 BST (UK) »
Hello RootsChat,

Can anyone help me with the following:

Is anyone familiar with Glyntaff Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Pontypridd.

I have ancestors buried there in section H plot numbers 36, 37 and 38.

I would very much like to know if any headstones still exist are on these graves.

Your help would be much appreciated
