I am hoping someone out there can help.  my married name is Fanthom and while in Scotland years ago someone was researching peoples name.  we had a go and was told it was a hard name to trace.  they finally came to the conclusion it was from the Huguenots.  can anyone please help.  it is only found in the black country area and very little anywhere else.

I does not seem that hard to trace.
Familysearch has 9 Fanthom Marriages between 1741 and 1792 in Kent/London/Leicestershire/Warwickshire.
Many more after that in several Counties.
