Morcott Burial help if possible please...
« on: Friday 20 September 13 23:00 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

If anyone has a Burial index that covers Rutland I would be very grateful if you could possibly have a look for the burial for Ann Lane.

Ann was born in 1824 in Leicestershire but the family moved to Morcott. I believe her death was most likely between 1846 - 1861, as Ann had a child in 1846 and was the informant on her child's birth cert and her husband John is a widow by 1861 census....(she wasn't on the 1851 census with her husband and children so may have already died by then).

Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you

 :)

Hi if I have the correct John and family with an Ann aged 7 and Lydia aged 5 in Morcott, then John is shown as married?

Also just doing a search via Freebmd of deaths of an Ann Lane in Rutland does not produce any matches?

Hi Keyboard86,

Thank you for your reply and help. Yes that's them on the census. I was struggling to find her death so thought maybe I would get lucky with a burial record to help me narrow down the time frame of her death.

I've looked extensively for Ann's death in Rutland & elsewhere and can't find her.
You may however, be interested to see John b 1811  in 1881 is visiting his daughter Lydia Barratt and family in Barrowden- although he is put as Visitor and not father in law. I'm pretty sure its him, Lydia's birth year and place fit.
John appears to have been buried 29th April 1887 in Morcott aged 76.
Sorry cant be of more help.

Thank you so much for your help forte I really appreciate it.

I am still searching for Anne's death/burial...she was born in Billesdon, Leicestershire so I will try there next as I'm wondering if maybe she got sick and went home to family to be nursed etc? Her parents George and Mary Carte were in Billesdon at the time period I suspect Anne died and both died there.

Yes that's the correct John at his daughter Lydia's in 1881.

Thank you so much for his burial details which I didn't have, that must be him as he died 26 Apr 1887 aged 76.

You have been a great help, thank you.

Merry Christmas
