There is a Sarah Ann Barber d/o James & Elizabeth bap Cathedral Manchester 21 Dec 1806 and then an Elizabeth Hill, age 12 on the 1841 census with a James Barber 70, Elizabeth Barber 41 & Mary Barber 30. This is possibly Sarah Ann's father & sisters.

Oh that's great!! I looked but there were quite a few EH's but the Barber connection is so good.
I would say you have got them!
If only Philip would turn up somewhere  ;)

I think its possible that Philip 'cooked the books' i fouund one in prison in 1861 having been done for larceny.  Just need to find his father and brothers; many thanks to all who helped in this search.
