Hi,

I'm looking for confirmation that the above couple are the parents of son James M Henderson b 1883 Kinghorn, Fife.

The James in question was living in Scranton, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA 1930 & occupation was Blacksmith.

That James married 1927 in Scranton to my grandaunt Margaret Steel(e) who was the widow of George Work.
James died between 1930 (census) & Jul 1934 when Margaret was an incoming passenger returning to Glasgow.

I'm only needing confirmation that this is the same man so I can trace his immigration on a passenger list as his birth is only given as Scotland.

You would need to check his birth on Scotlands People to get his parents names.

I can't see an 1891/1901 entry with that birthplace. There is one born Kingsbarns but mother is Christina

Hi Carole,

Likewise, although I have found couples with same names which doesn't verify his actual parents so was hoping a family member researching the names Henderson/Monie may have been able to confirm.

A birth cert. will not identify him anymore than I have as the 1930 census only states Scotland as birthplace and as there were no issue between James & Margaret to my knowledge, I only want to confirm his birthplace for my own records as all who married into my family, I always try to state their details rather than just a name.

There is an exact birth match on SP in 1883 Kinghorn Fife for a James Monie Henderson

Some trees on the Mundia website have the family going to USA in 1888.
They have a death for James Monie Henderson in 1933 - 796 Farber PA.

Hi Carole,

I found that, that's where I got Kinghorn from although the info. I have is only James M & no definite d.o.b for him so wanted to confirm that the James I have is definitely Monie as I recently found Margaret's g granddaughter and didn't want to give her wrong info.

It sure does look to be him.
