Hi William,

Thank you so much for all your help i am very gratefull to you.

My grandfather James Lewis Evans married my grandmother Elizabeth Maria Maddock / Lloyd  she was registered as Maddock because she was born two months before her parents married. but she is down as Lloyd on her marriage certificate.

Now it looks as if James Lewis Evans lied about his age in order to get married as he would have been only 17 where as on the marriage certificate his age is down as 21.

Thanks

It would be an enormous hunch but I'm wondering whether the James ? Lewis given as a boarder and living next door to the Evans family in 1891 is significant in all this?

Might well be because on the birth certificate it has the father as James Evans but then crossed out
