Union Workhouse at Llwynypia
« on: Monday 30 September 13 12:55 BST (UK) »
Hi all

Have been looking on the 1911 census for the Union Workhouse (later the old Llwynypia Hospital) in Partridge Road, Llwynypia.  I cannot find it despite looking through page after page on Ancestry.
Does anyone have an index of the streets with their numeration details please.
Thanks in advance

There's a 1921 map on the Workhouses website, if that's of any use?

Thanks KGarrad, I had seen this map. What I cannot find is the 1911 census listings of the Llwynypia workhouse. I have gone through page after page of the Ancestry census for Rhondda but cannot find this place in Partridge Road.
Thanks again for your trouble.

Hi sem73.

Yes that is it. Took some finding on Ancestry but got there in the end. What did not help was that the Ancestry transcription was wrong by having my great grandfather down as Adams, the same as the name prior to his and the result was that as far as Ancestry indexes were concerned he did not exist. Put a note on the census screen to correct.
Many thanks for you help as I doubt if I would have found him if it had not been for your kindness.
