Nov 1850 - "Two men .... were sent for trial at the Belfast Police Office for the theft of lead from The Lodge at Oldpark, the property of Mr Lyons."
Jan 1851 - "In the Belfast Police Courts ..... John Downey and James Armour, for stealing a quantity of lead. the property of WTB Lyons of Oldpark, guilty each to be imprisoned for nine months."
Nov 1871 - "Samuel Scully while employed at the steamer Thetis ....... fell into the river between the vessel and the wharf. He was in a dangerous position as the tide was low at the time. Thomas Lyons rescued him by means of a rope."
Aug 1880 - "George Johnston, a mate on the barque Emma, was charged with assaulting John Lyons on a voyage from Montreal to Belfast."
Jun 1882 - "Thomas Lyons, a blacksmith from Cullingtree Road was charged with violently assaulting Joseph Hill of Rutherford Street. The victim was found in a lifeless state on Royal Avenue."
July 1882 - "Robert Corbett and Thomas Lyons rescued David Spence from the river at Albert Quay. Mr Spence was drunk and drowning when the two men went to his assistance in their boat."
Nov 1894 - "An inquest was held into the death of Mary Ann Lyons, of 52 Pancras Street. Dr Frazer concluded she had died from pulmonary consumptions."
Nov 1896 - "Messers T Lyons & Co have opened a business in Upper North Street."
July 1897 - "Martha Jane Lynn of 26 Venice Street went to court to seek mainteance from her husband, James C W Lyons of 23 Hillman Street. The husband, a national schoolteacher has deserted her. The husband deposed that he had left her when she began a correspondence with her shorthand teacher. Her letters to the shorthand teacher were read in court. The case was dismissed."
