Not sure if this is in the right place - but where to put this is not the only thing I don't know
I have a ref (
Ancestry.com. Dublin, Ireland, Probate Record and Marriage Licence Index, 1270-1858 [database on-line]) to a marriage of William Magrath + Susannah McLean in 1831, who may have been my gg-gparents. Can anyone advise how I can follow this up/get further info?
The only other info I have on him is:
a) 18.1.1862 marriage of his son William in Dublin
b) at above address of 38 Summer St N, given (at this address since at least 1853)
c) 1840 - 1868 at least, Clerk Dublin Court of Chancery
d) a Christopher Magrath, also law clerk at CofChanceryfrom 1844, at 38 Summer St N (Thoms 1861)
e) a Robert Charles Magrath (law clerk) lived next door but one to William jnr, they called their children in the same way, & Robert Charles gave one of them Wm Chris McLean (McLean not being the mother's maiden name)
