Wilbart family, Essex
« on: Tuesday 08 October 13 20:29 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to place Peter Wilbart/Wilbert potter at (or near to) Stock in Essex around 1618/19. Stock was well known for its potteries.

The Wilbert/Wilbart family (Peter I, II, III) were potters in Lambeth 1576-1616/17, and later in Greenwich/Woolwich 1629-64, however I can't find evidence of where Peter II was 1617-1628, or when/where he died.

This post is prompted by a snippett in the accounts of the Ipswich Sugarhouse saying that Peter Wilbart the pot-maker of Stoke was paid for supplying sugar moulds and jars during 1618 and 1619.

FamilySearch shows just Samuel Wilbart, Sible Hedingham 1619.

Various trees on Anc****y show Samuel moving to the 13 colonies.

Thanks for the help, Mark.

Seems from the trees that Samuel's father and grandfather were both Nicholas, and both of Essex, which rules him out as being immediate family of the potters.
