If I have read Bunnygirl's message correctly they were all buried in the unconsecrated section.

Does this mean, perhaps that they were non-conformists?

Hi Peter,
Yes all burials were in the unconsecrated section of the cemetery and in the notes it says
Parts of the Cemetery  - The cemetery is in two parts. The Consecrated (Cons or c-) Part was consecrated for Church of England burials only. The UnConsecrated (UnC or u-) was for all other burials.

I have noticed another burial which may be of interest to you again in Welford Road Cemetery
Moulds Elizabeth 26 Dec 1874 aged 58yrs Grove Street St Margarets Leicester uS 905.

The burial of Mahala Ashton she was aged 11 mths sorry I missed that out & her abode was 7 George Street.
I have looked on some of my Baptism CD's and unable to find baptisms you required. I have checked Belgrave, St Margarets, All Saints, St Leonard's St Martin's, St Nicholas, St George's & St Mary de Castros

Happy searching

Bunnygirl

Thank you for that extra information.

Not too sure about the Elizabeth Moulds death

In the household on the 1861 census return there is a lodger called John Suffolk (widower).
I've now found a marriage record for a John Suffolk in the 1st quarter of 1867 with an Elizabeth Moulds on the same page.

Father of Nathaniel & William, perhaps?

Peter

Hi Peter,
Yes looks like it would be worth getting the marriage & births certificates to be sure you are on the right track
Good Luck with it all

Update
I've ordered the birth certificate for William from Leicester Register Office. Should be ready for collection on Monday.

Now I know she was trying to be helpful, but the receptionist wanted to know why I hadn't filled in the details for the father.  ::)

Bother!

The birth certificate has no father's name and no mother's maiden name.
William Moles born 25/7/1857 at 12 Royal Kent Street to mother Elizabeth Moles (her mark)
Nobody of that surname or similar at that address in 1851 or 1861.

I've ordered Nathaniel's certificate. If that one has no father named then they will refund my money.

Hi Peter,
Not much luck with the birth certificate then?
I have found the family on 1871 & 1881 census
1871 74 Navigation Street St Margarets, Leicester
James Moulds b abt 1842 Leicestershire Frame work knitter
Eliza Moulds b 1842 Leicestershire Frame work knitter
Jane Moulds b 1868 Leicestershire
John Suffolk b 1828 Leicestershire Frame work Knitter
Elizabeth Suffolk b 1824 Leicestershire Frame work knitter
William Suffolk b 1857 Leicestershire Elastic worker
So Elizabeth living with eldest son James & family & she did marry John Suffolk & note William has taken on John Suffolks surname.

1881 Census 10 Court A Frog Isalnd Leicester
John Suffolk b 1818 Leicestershire Frame work knitter
Elizabeth Suffolk b 1820 Leicestershire frame work knitter

A few entries down on page so same address
William Moulds b 1859 Leicestershire Frame work knitter
Ellen Moulds b 1860 Leicestershire Frame work knitter
William Moulds son no further information.

So looks  like William used both surnames Suffolk & Moulds.
I have found 2 burials in Welford Road Cemetery Leicester
Elizabeth Suffolk 19 Oct 1895 age 75yrs Leicester Union Workhouse St George's uN 523C
John Suffolk 19 Feb 1894 age 74yrs Leicester Union Workhouse St Georges uH 483c

Will take a look tomorrow at my St Margarets PR and see if I can see a baptism for William under surname of Suffolk

Regards
