« on: Friday 25 October 13 12:02 BST (UK) »
hi
I hope you can help me. can you tell me what Canadian forces were at brighton during the war.
their is a particular Canadian I have a title for....maybe a needle in a haystack..Richard or ricky
Ferdinand...I know the Ferdinand is correct or sorry ferdinnan definitely in the title.
iff you can not help thank you for reading this anyway.but I would still like to know about the Canadians in brighton. finnaly is their a site with Canadians in brighton or England who died in the war. I think they left brighton for the d day landings, I might be completely wrong. I have also e mailed the brighton library. I live in Croydon but would go to brighton library iff they had any info.

thank you.

Hi - if you Google "Which Canadian Soldiers Were in Brighton During the War" you'll see a few

entries. One says the Canadian 8th Infantry Brigade was there.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately its one of those questions that you, like many others, have left too late to ask.  In the 50's and 60s, many Brighton pubs and bars were still being run by ex Canadian servicemen who had opted to stay, and the Brighton Tigers included a few ice hockey players who had a Canadian background.   Roy G
