Alexander Woods - Mareeba

I am looking for information on Alexander Woods  who married, I think, one Isabella Mathilda Evenden in about 1896.  As far as I can ascertain they lived in Mareeba.

If he is the same Alexander as the one in my family tree his father was James Pontifex Woods (1833-1911) who was born in Southwark Surrey, but I am unsure who his mother was, but it could have been a Margaret Bell.

I believe there is a book/pamphlet written by an Australian relative on the Woods family there, and would really appreciate any details on that as well.

I shall contact Sally regarding the book on the Woods family.  I have managed to do quite a bit of research on the South African branch as well as the English and American side, but this was my first venture into Australia.

ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF WOOTHAKATA
Woods Alexander, 26, Beaconsfield, miner.
Qualified by residence on 20th Feb 1894

If he was about 26 when he registered in 1894 his birth would have been around 1868.

Beaconsfield was a mining area west of Mareeba.

Thank you very much.  That would fit in with the approximate year of birth that I have which was 1867/1868. 

I am amazed at the wealth of information available in Australia, and will now have fun in finding his nine children!
