SIMS Family

There are 19 "SIMS" in the current N Devon phone book ..

Appledore, Bideford, Barnstaple, Braunton, Croyde, Woolacombe, Ilfracpmbe, Combe Martin,Lynton and South Molton.

I have a Henry Sims born in Wiltshire then the family were in Erith Kent.I know their history from Kent from 1811.

The Henry Simms I have was born 4 August and christened in Highworth on 11 Sept. 1796 s/o Samuel & Jane. Samuel was a taylor. Which parish was your Henry in, Ricobar?
Kent is interesting for I have always wondered how a Sims in Cricklade, Wiltshire came to marry a girl from Kent. Where in Kent?

Hi,''my'' Henry I think was born in Maiden Bradley c1776 ,married an Ann,their son Mark was born Erith Kent c1811,I think there is still some in Erith.A lot are all over the world.
I don't think there is a link to your Henry but you never know,will make a note .Thanks for your reply.

Erith to Frittenden is 40 miles so the connection between a Sims in Cricklade & Godfrey in Kent I think must be elsewhere.

Godfrey was the name of  a family living in Frittenden. Did any of your more recent Sims go to live there say in c.1870?
