Eveline Stott (nee Pirnie)
« on: Thursday 14 November 13 12:32 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any information about Eveline. She was born in 1891, married Joseph Stott in 1948 and died in 1974 in Newcastle. I believe she lived in Kenton. I know she had three children, possibly before marriage. She was living with Joseph for a number of years before their marriage.

possibly before marriage.

Definitely before marriage I would say, as on the dates you give she was 57 when she married!

Which censuses have you found her on?
Who was named as her father on her marriage cert?
Was she spinster when married, or had she been married before?

Not seeing a birth for Eveline Pirnie in or around 1891 on freebmd

Hi
A bit late for the records but had a bit of a delve and no Eveline Pernies born in 1891 .
There is a marriage Dec 1913  10b 208 Newcastle upon Tyne Frederick J Pernie and Eveline Pond which you may want to look at.
It fits with a birth for Eveline Pond Dec 1891 Newcastle upon Tyne 10b 90
1891 census 33 Salisbury St Byker
John Pond 32 General cartman Glanton
Sarah 32 NUT
Eveline 9 NUT
Frederick W 4 Trimdon Durham
Alfred J 1 NUT
Frederick James Pirnie was born Sep 1890 Blyth and died March 1929 Tynemouth  son of Peter Pirnie riveter and Sarah his wife.
Fred and Eveline seem to have had up to 5 children between 1917 and 1928 -3 girls and 2 boys.
I'm not going to post their names in case they are still alive. But one Annie T born Sep 1922 died Mar 1923.
Given that Eveline would have been 57 by the time she married Joseph any children with him will surely be before their marriage, but I can't spot them.

I was too slow! Just following up the Eveline Pond.

I guess the children she had before marrying Joseph were those from her first marriage.

Thanks everyone. I couldn't find a previous marriage but was pretty certain that there had to be one. It appears that I was on the right lines just hadn't quite got there. I haven't named names in case some are still alive. Joseph left his wife to live with Eveline but didn't marry her until his wife died. They named their children after children in Joseph's previous family.

That's because Stott children's mother's name was put down as Pirnie. That's the reason I was having so much difficulty in the first place.
Thanks
