Could this be another possible marriage from the FreeBMD Index?

John Kiley married either Maria Powell or Catherine Coughlin

Hi Kay
Thank you, yes, you have the right family.  I wonder could I please ask for the 1891 details.

With regards to the marriage, the wife was named Kath on the 1911, so Catherine is the obvious choice.

Hi Kay
Thanks once again; I have the 1881 census box set but I failed to find him, would it be possible to locate John Kiley on the earlier census, the reason being in a newspaper article dated 1915, John Kiley stated he was at Rorkes Drift.  I found a Michael Kiley listed amongst the defenders at Rorkes Drift and I'm wondering if he was named Michael John Kiley and known as John.

John Kiley's age varies in the census years from 1859 to 1864.

At the moment I can't see him definitely in the earlier census year or a birth but will continue looking.   I think you may need his marriage cert to give his father's name
