Does anyone know the whereabouts of Panfield parish records? On Seax the baptisms stop in 1812.

Essex Record Office.

Though I only see marriages after 1812 on the seax index.
Were there many marriages?
Maybe there werent any more christenings and burials!  Did the Parish church close or combine with another parish at all soon after 1812 ?
Worth calling tbe ERO, could be that only up to 1812 is on Essex ancestors, and the later ones have missed being indexed.

Have checked with ERO; the church still has the later records.

Checked with the vicar at Panfield; the missing pr's were in a safe stolen from the church!

That's a real shame.  Do you think the thief realised the significance of his haul - which I guess he dumped or burnt to remove evidence.
