1841 Census shows Edward and Susannah living next door to John and Mary Newman so it's possible those are his father and stepmother.

Can't see a baptism for her on the Northants Baptism Index I'm afraid.  There are some Esther Browns but none baptised that early, not under variation of Hester either.

I suppose it's possible she could be a widow.

Don't suppose her age is given at her burial?  Never mind, got to stop somewhere!

Once again many thanks.

Sorry no age listed on burial.  Not uncommon before 1813.

I tried Oxfordshire but only possibility is birth in Benson, south Oxfordshire  - Hester Brown 1766

Was that from the Oxfordshire FHS search or another source?  Definately looks like Hester wasn't from Northamptonshire, unless she was a widow which would be difficult to confirm because nothing obvious in Farthinghoe or Aston le Walls.

my usual familysearch source:

Name:   Hester Brown
Gender:   Female
Christening Date:   22 Jun 1766
Christening Place:   BENSON,OXFORD,ENGLAND

Father's Name:   James Brown
Father's Birthplace:
Father's Age:
Mother's Name:   Hester
Mother's Birthplace:

But it is a long way from Aston le Walls unless they met half way!! Well not even half way as Benson to Aston le Walls is about 4 times as far.
