« on: Tuesday 03 December 13 11:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi again from Australia and a Merry Christmas to all.
Some time since i posted but so frustrated in trying to add to my Family Tree, I have just Phoned Land Registry trying to get a copy of the Deeds to the Family Farm, they say can only get back to 1992....fair enough but surely somewhere has the History of when it was built and the first Owners i know my GG GrandfatherZachariah Hindley was the Farmer there in 1864 because his Daughter was born on the Farm in 1864,but how can i find before that to when first built.

the property is freehold ...MONK HOUSE FARM PARKSIDE RD HERMITAGE GREEN WINWICK
WARRINGTON  WA2 8ST...I it's just been sold  anyone help  Many Thanks Martin Hindley.

I see on the sales information that it says the house dates back to approximately 1850, but I cant find the address in the 1851 or 1861 census.

Have you thought about contacting the agent who is responsible for the sale to see if they know anything more about the history?

Very nice house , It was advertised in Lancashire life, some time ago , I would write to the new owners , stating your historical interest,  :D

Sounds like it became registered land in 1992.   The old deeds will have been replaced with new ones.  I heard solicitors were keeping them as collection pieces, but don't know how true that is.

If you type the postcode into the search bar of the Old Maps website, then select the 1849 map from the sidebar, Monk's House is clearly marked, opposite Wood Head. So it was certainly built before 1849

Hi
It looks that Zac moved into Monk House between 1863 and 1865 (the births of the children)
so it may be found in the local press as an advert for Sale or Rent
Hope that helps

Back again
Looking at how the properties are listed in the 1861 Census and the 1871 cenus
the Hindleys are living between Wood Head farm and Rough House in 1871 In 1861 there are two properties
Wood Head & Parkside Road one property
In 1871 There are Three all adressed as Parkside Road
The name Monk House does not appear until the 1881 census
