I wonder if you can help me?

I can't find any trace of John Ockenden HOPE, after the 1901 Canadian census.

Here are some details:

John Ockenden HOPE
Born: 4 May 1827 Worthing, Sussex, England

Occupation: Draper

Married: Martha Ann STAPLES (1842-1923)

Three children:
Robert Staples HOPE (1871-1913)
Minnie Rosa HOPE (1873-1964)
Clarence Reuben HOPE - later changed middle name to Reginald (1883-1941)

If anybody could help me find a death / burial / obit record for John, I would really appreciate it.

I believe he died prior to 1916, because he does not appear in the 'In Memoriam' that Martha placed for their son Robert, in the Waterford Star newspaper 24 Feb 1916.

I've been looking for John's death record for years. I need to improve my detective skills in searching for mistranscribed records!

You are very welcome. It was quite a hunt but the record LindGW found gave me the best clue ... the J O with the death year  . So I looked for a 1906 death for a J O without putting in a last name and up popped Nope. He was certainly well hidden.
