seeking contact with relatives of RAF Sgt Ernest Edward WELDON

Seeking contact with the relatives of RAF Sgt Ernest Edward WELDON 754906, who was the second pilot on a 58 Squadron Whitley bomber coded N1462, GE-V. On the 18th July 1941 the bomber was intercepted by a German nightfighter and shotdown near the Dutch village BEST. Sadly Sgt E.E.WELDON lost his life at the young age of 23. Ernest Edward WELDON was the son of Horace Edward and Sarah Elisabeth WELDON; husband of Eileen Mary WELDON of Doncaster,Yorkshire.  Sgt Ernest Edward WELDON is buried beside four crewmembers at Eindhoven(Woensel) General Cemetery.

You may find the following helpful in tracing relatives

www.freebmd.org.uk

Use the above site to look for his birth which will give his mothers maiden name

Again using freebmd - search for Weldon births with that mothers maiden name which will tell you if he had any siblings and when they were born

If you decide to contact the newspaper as suggested above - you will then have some additional info to help in any search for living relatives

Hello,  I have just seen your post and am curious to know the reason for you search. My mother was the wife of Sgt E E Weldon and their daughter, born in 1942 six months after her fathers death, is my sister.
