DAVID RICHARDSON - GALVESTON DAILY NEWS
« on: Tuesday 13 July 04 04:58 BST (UK) »
David RICHARDSON b. abt. 1819 England, married (1st) Eliza Oates abt. 1839 on the Isle of Man.  Family emigrated to USA 1848, and by 1850 David was co-owner/editor of the Galveston Daily News.  David and Eliza separated and he remarried (2nd) to Jennie (from Scotland) in the mid 1850s.

David died in 1871 in New York; I'm looking to discover the exact date and place of death.

Hi
I am unable to help you with the death date  :'(

However, I did phone the Galveston Daily News and they in turn referred me to the local History Library.

The library provides history research for about $10US per hour.  As he was prominent in the community, it is possible they may have a obituary.   They do have copies of the newspaper on microfiche back to its origins.

Their email address is:

gthc1@rosenberg-library.org

if you wish to make further inquiries.

Regards,
Valerie

Many thanks Valerie.  I will certainly request a search from the library.  Much appreciated.
