You just beat me Dee. ;D

I think the MRCSL could be part of Henry's occupation Member of the Royal College of Surgeons London? At that time I don't think a woman would have been a doctor.

Hello Dee,

Thank you very much.

I have the servant and lodger thanks.

Was curious about the occupations of the rather old and unmarried children.  Perhaps they needed no spouse or work.  :)

Regards,

Fred

Hello groom.

Yes, it's the part that follows Henry's occupation being the forerunner of the current 'Member of The Royal College of Surgeons of England' with the 'L' I presume being London.

Regards,

Fred

Hi Fred

From the 1871 census I take it that the two sons were also doctors/surgeons. The women wouldn't needed to have worked as the family obviously was well off.

Looking at the 1861, he also had another daughter, Maria R Davis aged 30, a widow, who was with the family together with her two children. She is also visiting him in the 1851.

Hello groom,

Thanks. So the occupation was dittoed but would not include Mary Ann.

Maria Katherine married George North Coburn DAVIS a Pay-master and Purser in RN who ended up in Debtors Prison. No death found 1851 - 1861 and not found in any census so far.

Regards,

Fred
