Places of work in early 19th century

Any ideas on where, apart from the Census, the names of employers can be found, from 1900 to 1917 in particular in Suffolk.

I think Kelly's Directories used to list practically everything in an area - not sure if there are any versions available online though.  Might be worth having a hunt though.  I think there also used to be a Suffolk Trade Directory which presumably would also give details of employers in the area.

There are the telephone directories for the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, right up to today in the 21st century
